Purpose
This role is accountable for ensuring a high quality service ethos in the delivery of IT services for the AQA group.
The Service Delivery Manager will be responsible for leading the IT service management function and retain overall accountability for defining, implementing and monitoring operational processes and services in accordance with industry best practice, and to sustain high levels of service performance and availability provided to AQA to support the delivery of organisational outcomes.
Landscape
The AQA Enterprise Technology Division sits within the Finance and Corporate Services Division enabling the centralised delivery of core corporate services. In addition, Enterprise Technology operates in close partnership with Assessment Technology and Programme Management collectively delivering the full IT service portfolio of current operations to future change programmes.
The service delivery function has an approx. headcount of 21 permanent roles, with seasonal increases when necessary with this specific area having 5 direct reports but with other Service Owner matrix responsibilities.
To be successful in the role you will ideally have experience in the following:
- Proven leader with a strong track record of IT expertise and delivery across a number of practices within the IT industry including but not limited to supplier management, commercial acumen, business continuity\ITDR service provision, risk & issue management.
- Expert at establishing a strong service delivery culture within organisations
- Strong and proven expertise in ITIL service delivery methodology, and tailoring to targeted outcomes
- Strong and confidence experience of line and matrix management
- Strong and proven expertise in managing hybrid support functions – internal and external / 3rd party organisations
