The Employer:

Our client is a specialist Groundwork and RC frame sub-contractor based in London Current turnover is around £100million per annum and with projects based in and around London they are in a very strong position in the marketplace. Clients include well known main contractors and current package values range from £1million up to £40million. They are looking for a capable site based project manager to manage complex high rise RC Frame Groundwork packages

Requirements:

To be considered candidates ideally will come from a degree qualified background and ideally in Civil Engineering (not 100% necessary), but more importantly candidates MUST be able to show a strong amount of experience working for rival Groundwork or Reinforced Concrete frame subcontractors in the UK.

You will be considered if a strong amount of experience can be shown in this sector with recognised Groundwork or RC frame subcontractors. Aside from this, due to the working area of our client we are trying to only target candidates that live within the London or South East area of the UK. The initial sites are located in North London, South East London and Home Counties.

Duties:

These duties give an idea of what will be entailed in the role but areas of experience don’t necessarily need to have been gained in all.

Overall management and responsibility for the daily operation and final completion of the site works in terms of health and safety, programme, budget, cost and recompense from the client
Recruitment of teams and motivation of engineers, package managers and construction operatives.
Management or completion of method statements, technical submittals, rfi’s, quality, environmental and H&S documentation.
Management of overall production on-site and coordinating the timely sequences of operations by providing design assistance to the design team and ensuring receipt of necessary details and information. Collaboration with clients and consultants to resolve problems in advance or as they arise.
Production of long and short term programmes, built-up for variations and valuations.
Assistance in the development of temporary works design schemes for formwork, shoring, propping and ensuring installation in accordance with agreed procedures.
Tendering, negotiation and procurement of specialist materials and sub-contractors such as concrete, reinforcement, craneage, support systems, steelwork, waterproofing.
Attendance and chairing at meetings for the purpose of progress, technical information, H&S and commercial motives.Salary:

Basic salary will range from £26,000based on individual experience and backgrounds but each package will also include a car allowance or company car as well as usual benefits package.
