Salary: £54,000 – £66,000 per year

The Client:

As the specialist retail division of a Tier 1 main contractor, you’d struggle to find a business that can offer as much in the way of project scope and progression opportunities as this. Holding established relationships across retailers of all shapes and sizes, specialising in fast-track refurbishments, new builds and alterations, the business work nationally across a range of exciting schemes that can vary in size and value from small refurbishments to multi-million-pound new-build stores.

The Role:

As Project Manager reporting directly into an experienced Construction Manager, you’ll ultimately be responsible for the hands-on management, programming, quality and delivery of works. The business boasts market-leading development schemes, so you’ll learn ply your trade knowing there are unrivalled progression opportunities available to you over time. Their projects are typically based across the South, so you’ll also need to be prepared to travel and/or stay away – fully funded of course.

This role would ideally suit an experienced Site Manager looking to make the leap across into Project Management, however experienced applicants from Project Management backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

* Lead on-site delivery for retail projects, overseeing all manner of labour, trades and sub-contractors on a daily basis.

* Develop and contribute to site programme, demonstrating the ability to adapt to challenges, alongside heavy involvement in pre-contract functions.

* Hold responsibility for quality control checks, ensuring delivery of the highest standard.

* Advise on best practice for cost-control on all units built to ensure a high-quality but profitable outcome.

* Operate as a client-facing focal point for the business, ensuring the development of key relationships with external consultants, senior management and customers.

* Establish rapport with customers and take responsibility for unit handover and subsequent snagging, ensuring a seamless delivery.

Qualifications & Experience:

* Construction-related Degree/NVQ/equivalent, ideally Construction Management, would be preferable.

* Previous experience with retail brands, delivering refurbishments, new builds or both would be desirable.

* Previous general construction experience is essential.

* You’ll ideally be situated in East Anglia be comfortable with national travel.
