Production Manager

Production Manager required to work for a manufacturing and distribution facility on the border or Somerset/Devon.
Reporting in to the Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for managing all manufacturing functions, including people, quality, production and performance. The purpose of this position is to lead, control and manage manufacturing activity to achieve key measures including safety, on time delivery and labour and material reduction.

Key responsibilities of this role include: –

• Monitoring and controlling labour costs to maximise efficiency and ensure manufacturing capacity is in line with operations forecasts.
• Ensure the costs effect use of raw materials
• Ensure plant machinery is adequately maintained.
• Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety procedures.
• Motivating and leading all supervisors and operators, ensuring good lines of communication at all times.

This is a challenging position and would suit someone who is able to hit the ground running and work on their own initiative.

Ideally you will offer the following: –

• A proven background working within a manufacturing environment where you have a managed a medium sized unit.
• A good understanding of lean manufacturing principles, health and safety and an overall commercial awareness are also essential requirements for the role.
• Evidence of having delivered KPI’s is also required with excellent problem solving skills.
• Natural leadership skills with an open communication style.
• Ideally offer a minimum of HNC in manufacturing or business related discipline.
