Exam Invigilators (Casual)

V-Recruit are currently recruiting 20 x Exams Invigilators to start work on a casual, temporary basis at a Sheffield Secondary School in the coming weeks.

Duties to include working within a team of invigilators, supervising pupils undertaking school and external examinations in accordance with the legal and school requirements.

Additional duties to include, but will not be limited to:

* Preparing exam rooms as required by the examination board

* Supervising candidates in a quiet and unobtrusive manner to ensure that the regulations on conduct, communication etc are strictly observed

* Distributing additional paper and/or equipment as required

* Assisting in admitting candidates to the examination room and enabling them to find their allocated seats quietly and efficiently

* Distributed examination papers and associated materials at the beginning of the examination and collecting them at end

* Responding to candidates non-curricular queries in accordance with examination regulations

* Escorting and supervising candidates that may need to leave the examination room

* Ensuring that minor behavioural issues are dealt with in line with school policy

* Clearing and tidying examination rooms ready for the next session

* Reporting any breaches of conduct to the supervising teacher/invigilator/examinations officer

* You may be asked to scribe for students in some instances

We are looking to recruit additional exam invigilators for the forthcoming exam periods mainly during May to June, although you may be called upon to assist at other times of the year. These appointments are offered on a casual basis and, if appointed, you will join a bank of exam invigilators and you will be able to choose the number of hours you wish to work.

£26,000 per year

Casual hours, but will be between the hours of 8am and 3pm, Monday to Friday during exam season (between March to June)

The chosen candidates will be need to be reliable, hardworking and trustworthy. You will need to be registered on the DBS update service, with an enhanced check. We will need to take 2 x recent references and complete a comprehensive ID check prior to placement within the school.
