WSG specialise in project management, manufacture and installation of bespoke joinery products with a heavy focus on the commercial interiors sector. Due to sustained development they are now on the lookout for a designer to join their team.

The Role

At WSG the design department plays a pivotal role in the success of a project, and encompasses everything from sales order through to briefing production and providing drawings for installation.

Responsibilities but not limited to:-

• Work alongside the Estimating Team, Production and the Client to ensure briefs contain all the information needed for accurate designs to be created.
• Have an understanding of the various materials available, including metal fabrication, ensure these are incorporated into the design and are ultimately feasible to be manufactured by the Production Team.
• Manage the approval process of drawings, including additions and material variations, making sure the timeline for the project stays on track. Communicating both internally and externally as to any changes that may affect programme.
• Work closely with the wider team off-site, including site surveys and client meetings.

Required skills:-

• 2+ years in a furniture/manufacturing design role. (Graduates with a Product/Furniture Design degree will also be considered)
• Design for manufacture and installation, knowledge of materials and their feasibility is key.
• Solidworks experience.
• Excellent organisational, communication, numerical, written and problem-solving skills.
• An eye for detail, high level of accuracy and the ability to multi-task.
•  IT proficient.
