Salary: £54,000 – £57,600 per year
We are currently looking to recruit a Band 5 or a Band 6 Nurse Team Leader to coordinate a team of Complex Health Care Assistants to support a primary school aged boy with respiratory difficulties and complex health care needs who lives at home with his family in the Harrogate area. Care is provided 24 hours a day, with shifts on a rotational basis to enable him to live his life to his full potential whilst providing care to manage and respond to his additional daily emotional; social and complex physical needs.
The Nurse Team Leader will be required to administer and coordinate the care team with tasks including rota management; care planning; training; holiday activity planning and also ensuring that sickness and holidays are covered. The Nurse Team Leader will be required to ensure that the team of Complex HCAs are appropriately managed, directed and supervised to ensure the safe delivery of care. Additionally, they would need to ensure that the HCAs follow care plans, protocols and risk assessments relating to the child’s needs. The Nurse Team Lead will be required to ensure that in the absence of the maternal/paternal instinctive knowledge, that a professional lead with nursing experience is available to ensure that the child’s needs are met.
Essential Skills and Attributes:
•Registered UK PIN number
•Band 5 / Band 6 Qualification and experience
•Relevant experience as a Paediatric Nurse
•Experience of working with children with complex needs
•Ability to provide client specific training
•A full UK driving licence and own transport
•The ability to lone work, as well as communicate effectively as part of a team
•To be able to work calmly under pressure and be responsive to care needs
•Good record keeping skills with the ability to keep robust care records
•Good time keeping and punctuality with a willingness to be flexible and adaptable
