B2B Content Writer

Overview

Looking for a B2B writer to develop compelling content for technology buyers, conceptualize and produce messaging that moves markets, and manage marketing content that illustrates product and company values—for our large business and IT audiences. This content will be the fuel that drives marketing programs that generate leads, and promote company and product awareness.

You will have strong written communication skills and an innovative approach to content creation that will educate and engage customers, prospects, partners, investors and employees with fresh, insightful, technically accurate and compelling content.

Key responsibilities

Content strategy and production

– Work with stakeholders across the company to ensure alignment with core business goals and user needs
– Work cross-functionally to engage internal subject matter experts (SME) in content development; manage the SME team on our engagement platform
– Easily adapt voice and messaging to diverse business and technology audiences
– Continuously, proactively assess content effectiveness and optimize accordingly to ensure it attracts and maintains loyal audiences
– Collaborate with campaigns and product marketing teams to develop, fuel and maintain quarterly content marketing plans

Content marketing strategy

– Translate product messaging into compelling, credible content assets
– Write concise, compelling content across a range of formats for both online and offline vehicles to support event, promotion, collateral, web, sales and branding tactics
– Build and manage enterprise content editorial calendars
– Research and write content for online and offline marketing deliverables such as customer and product brochures, customer testimonials, white papers, technical product collateral, case studies, presentations, video and animation scripts, and email campaigns
– Develop a strong understanding of products and services to support the creation of unique content and messaging
– Manage content portfolio including print and digital content directed externally to customers and sales prospects
– Ensure consistent voice and tone throughout content portfolio
– Research and make recommendations for new topics and content based on trends within competitive landscape
– Maintain a macro view of all content related to corporate brand
– Work with marketing leadership to identify the most appropriate methods for distributing digital and print media content to customers, sales prospects and other key stakeholders

SKILLS

– 5-10 years of experience writing for a B2B corporate environment (enterprise software experience a plus) using creative, technical and journalistic styles (
– Bachelor`s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, English or liberal arts
– Ability to research and gather information and interview SMEs and customers as needed
– Ability to produce quality, error-free content quickly and on short deadlines
– Ability to manage projects from conception to implementation and communicate key milestones as progress is made
– Outstanding writing/proofreading skills and positive, high-energy, team-focused attitude are musts
– Self-starter who knows when to pull the right people into a project
– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
– Strong organizational, prioritization and project management skills
– Ability to initiate tasks and work independently with maniacal attention to detail
– Knowledge of basic branding concepts
– Ability to learn and apply new technical concepts
– Ability to quickly shift gears as needed, without losing equilibrium
– Experience with MS Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
