As the Assistant Management Accountant, you will assist with the preparation and provision of accurate and timely information to College Managers, the development of accounting procedures to facilitate and enhance the production of financial information and the production of College budgets and the monitoring thereof.

Producing accurate and timely detailed financial operating statements and balance sheets on a monthly basis, you will provide cover for the financial review of the monthly payroll and act on behalf of the Financial Controller and Financial Services department. Providing training and liaising with users of the accounting system, you will prepare and maintain the College’s fixed asset postings and depreciation calculations; taking responsibility for the maintenance and integrity of the General Ledger, including the overall supervision of control account reconciliations.

Candidates for this role must have experience of journal entry, prepayments, accruals, fixed asset register including depreciation calculations, preparation of trial balance and assistance with management accounts preparation. AAT Level 4 qualified or equivalent, you will be working towards or be prepared to work towards a professional accountancy qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or equivalent and have knowledge of financial accounting and budgeting principals.

A thorough knowledge of period end and year-end closedown procedures, the production of period and year end financial operating statements and of operating a complex computerised accounting package is essential.
