Architectural Technician / Designer

YKGroup is a growing Architectural studio specialising in Residential and Commercial projects in the London area. Over the past years the company has put an added focused on High End residential Interior Fit outs, Planning and Construction. We intend to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Architectural Technologist or Planning consultant to help manage our growing client base, to assist in the design, planning and interiors of these projects.
We also have a sister company called Extension Architecture, that focuses on planning applications for developers and residential clients.
This is a fantastic long term opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing company for a candidate who would like to experience the full spectrum of work involved in the architecture field with excellent career prospects. The candidate would be expected to have experience in creative design, detailed design, client management, contractor liaison and tendering.

We are situated currently in Worcester Park, Surrey, but will be moving mid December to a bigger office 10mins from Clapham Junction Station, and next to Battersea.

Candidates Experience and Qualifications:
-Minimum Degree level in a RIBA/CIAT Accredited Course
– Minimum 2 Years’ UK experience post-Graduation.
– Broad experience in the field, working on a variety of project types.
– Project management interest and experience, assisting in the management of contractors and sub-contractors, ADVANTAGEOUS
– On-site, procurement and site management experience, ADVANTAGEOUS
Skills Requirement:
– A big advantage knowing planning regulations in the UK
– Excellent command of spoken and written English
– Well organised and running the project programme and ensuring timely delivery
– Monitoring the projects on site and advising the workforce on all the aspects of the build
– Run projects and produce packages of work with minimal supervision from a senior architect or associate
– Interest and practical knowledge of modern construction methods
– Pro-efficient using AutoCAD, Google Sketch up, Advatageous knowing Lumion and Photoshop/Illustrator
– Working knowledge of Planning Procedures and Building Regulations

Successful Candidate’s Main Duties:
– Liaison with design team and structural engineers on the technical aspects and progress of the project.
– Participate or lead in the production of required drawings and documentation necessary to obtain planning permission and other approval required to start construction of a project.
– Be involved in and produce documentation that can be used for presentation and help with the management of projects.
– Assess the quality of design and drawings and ensure the performance exceeds minimum standards.
– Undertake measured Site Surveys when necessary
– Confident dealing with clients, Contractors and other Project Stakeholders.
Travel to live projects, inspect and give detailed feedback on progress of work and be a team player.
