2nd/3rd line Support, Infrastructure Engineer, IT Consultant – North Somerset – 1 yr fixed term

A very interesting opportunity to join an education establishment working on a very crucial contract of theirs. This role requires a very high level of Microsoft Server/Networking experience as well as experience installing Domains using Active Directory and Group Policy. Please note this is for a one year fixed term contract. Salary to £33,600 (DOE)

As part of an integral contract for my client, they have responsibility for the IT Infrastructure, Network and resources within the education department of 10 prisons across the South West. You will be expected to design, implement and install networks from the ground in isolated environments without any internet access, thus it is essential that you have a high level of Micrsosoft Server/Networking experience and have the technical ability to deliver a high quality service across this provision. You will take full ownership and coordination for the creation and implementation of prison education networks from bare metal builds. This role will therefore be split between my client’s offices in the North Somerset area and also visiting prisons across the South West. A clean driving licence is essential.

The following skills & experience are ESSENTIAL and must be clear on CV’s when applying for this role:-

*Previous experience installing Windows Domain from the ground up using Active Directory and Group Policy.

*Experience of Windows Server Networking including:- DHCP, DNS, TCPIP, KMS.

Any Project Management or IT training experience would be an distinct advantage, as would experience of working in a prison environment.

You must be confident in your ability to build networks from scratch and understand that you will be working in high pressured and challenging environments, thus be comfortable with this.

Please note that this role requires a Her Majesties Prisons (HMP) prison security vetting.
