1:1 Sen Lsa Role – Asc Specialism

Class People have a great new opportunity for a Teaching Assistant on a long-term contract at a well-known Primary Academy in Easton, Bristol. You will be working 1:1  with a student in Y4 with an ASC. The school are willing to wait for the right candidate, but would like the position to begin after the May half term.

This is a Full-time, 5-days a week position on a long-term contract starting after half term, and running until the end of the academic year. The role would fit someone with a strong background working with Autism, and someone who has helped students progress through their EHCP in the past. The school is part of a Multi Academy Trust, and places the highest value on fostering a child’s individuality and diversity. Taking a caring approach, the school offers the chance to engage in Forest School and Educational visits to various institutions within the community.

The right candidate will have:

–          Experience of working with students with ASC

–          A strong understanding of and ability to cater to the various needs of students with an ASC

–          A demonstrable history of a positive and sensitive approach, putting the needs of the students above all else

–          Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

–          The ability to take the initiative; adapting working styles to suit the needs of the students on the day, displaying a clear understanding of the different ways children learn

–          A demonstrable history of assisting teaching to a consistently high standard

–          Profound enthusiasm and creativity when engaging with students of all primary ages and abilities.
