Quality Inspector

Salary: £30,000 – £42,000 per year

Quality Inspector / Engineer Required to join a growing family run subcontract engineering business supplying components to a wide variety of industries including subsea, medical, hydraulic industries, Oil and Gas, Food Industry and General engineering.
We operate Fixed and Sliding Head Lathes, VMCs and a Fitting section.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Quality Inspector / Engineer
* Duties to include:
* Inspecting 1st and last off components
* 100 % Dimensional and visual inspection of components manufactured on-site (batch inspection) working with Axiom CNC CMM (Aberlink), Keyence IM-7020 & (Micrometers, Verniers, Height Gauge, Shadow Graphs, Mitutoyo Surface test and Various Gauges)
* Working to fine tolerances
* ISIR Reports/ any other metrology reports
* Calibration of all equipment and gauges
* ISO 9001 pre audit
* Writing Quality Plans for customers when required
* PPAP when requested
* Patrolling the Despatch area to ensure parts are pack correctly
* Putting procedures in place e.g. check frequency’s/ ordering plug gauges / looking at thumb nail gauges/ SPC analysis on the CMM.
Ideal Candidate
* Previous inspection experience required.
* Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with people on all levels.
* Good problem solving skills and a proactive attitude regarding issues.
* Be able to work successfully as part of a team Able to use own initiative.
* Desirable CMM experience
* Computer literacy Microsoft word & Excel
* Good time keeping and attendance record.
* An eye for detail
Holidays are standard 20 days per year plus statutory days.
HOURS OF WORK:
MON: 7.00AM – 4.15PM
TUES: 7.00AM – 4.15PM
WED: 7.00AM – 4.15PM
THURS: 7.00AM – 4.15PM
FRI: 7.00AM – 12PM
LUNCHBREAK: ½ HOUR 12.30-1PM
TOTAL PER WEEK: 40 HOURS
HOLIDAYS: 20 DAYS PER YEAR FLOATING PLUSSTATUTORY
RATE OF PAY: TBC
PAY PERIOD Monthly by BACS Transfer.
